Lachlan Allen, for the Evolve Awards People’s Choice Award – Designer Rug. The competition required a minimum of one design and a maximum of three designs submitted per entrant. You were required to submit a set of hardcopies of the designs, with a maximum of 6 colour variations for each design. An electronic copy was also required to be submitted with the entry. You were also required to specify a maximum of 10 colours for each of the rug designs.
During the process of the competition they narrowed 850 entries down to 25 finalists and eventually down to 6 finalists which would form the Designer Rugs ‘ID Collection’ 2011.
The winning prize consists of the following:
- My rug to be manufactured and distributed
- A rug of my own design
- A dinosaur design trophy
- $500 for my design
- Magazine subscriptions to Habitus, Indesign and Inside Magazine
- A return trip to Milan for the international design fair in April next year.
