The Woodland Waters Sports Pavilion is a key community facility that fosters social connectivity of a variety of sporting clubs and users in an inter-generational community through multi-purpose use design features. Functionally and aesthetically, the pavilion revolves around a central and welcoming Social Space that is easily identifiable as the main hub from either north or south ovals. Accommodation comprises clubrooms, changerooms, gym and amenities for use by local sporting clubs and for public hire.

The building was designed to sit sensitively within its context. Exterior colours are generally “natural” and low-key, in keeping with the parkland setting. The exterior comprises a simple selection of materials and finishes, selected for durability, ease of maintenance, cost-effectiveness and ESD credentials.

The facility reflects Council’s commitment to environmental sustainability through integration of best-practice ESD principles: The building has been designed to maximise ability for natural lighting and ventilation. Glazing and associated frames are thermally efficient, rainwater from the roof is collected for re-use in toilet flushing and many of the finishes utilise recycled materials which can, in turn, be recycled at end-of -use.
