Victoria Park Master Plan
Director, Michael Mandl, prepared the successful master plan for Landcom whilst at another practice. Landcom then bid for and won the right to develop the site of the former Royal Naval Stores and former Vehicle Manufacturing site at Zetland in South Sydney.
The master plan recognised the former uses prior to the industrial uses and established open spaces and the potential for open waterways.
Existing street patterns were reflected into the site. Existing trees and heritage buildings were retained.
The name Victoria Park was developed from the former use as a race course.
The development yield was substantially increased through a careful examination of the flight path to the airport.
GroupGSA has designed a 400 apartment development, within the Victoria Park Master Plan, that addresses the established street network, with a central landscaped courtyard and podium buildings of 7 storeys, rising to 10 and 14 storeys.
