SYDNEY SHOOTING CENTRE
CECIL PARK, NSW
Balancing the needs of the sport and the spectator has generated a unique creative synergy in the architecture of the Sydney International Shooting Centre. A simple industrial roof and building mass respond to the natural landform and extend out into the agrarian landscape. Sensitive siting allows the existing mature spotted gums to be retained and develop a formal, almost civic approach to the building.
The building 280 metres long incorporates four Olympic ranges, a 10 metre range, 25 and 50 metre ranges, a finals range and outdoor facilities for ‘Trap and skeet’ shot gun events.
