Next For Reece
This ground floor 1350 square meter studio space is a collaboration between Reece (Australia’s largest plumbing and bathroom supplies business, as well as 8 others in allied industries) and their creative studio Trout, who occupy the level above. Next is a strategic design centre. It is a multi-disciplinary hub for design, creativity and Innovation. It is independent and decentralised. Its role is to create ideas, products, services and experiences that support the Reece Community. Its goal is to foster: Insights, Experience, Innovation and Education. GroupGSA were appointed to design this space with a brief to create an environment that is intimately connected to its function, a truly innovative approach to working, connect-ability, sensory elements, natural tones and tactile qualities.
A Flexible space that supports the creative ideological process and will also allow for a photographic and film studio, ambulant bathroom, server/data room, and ABW workspace and kitchenette. Next is a creative workplace focussed on hatching new ideas, identifying disruptors, testing products and creating. The space is founded on the principle of high malleability, choice and control. It is a platform for change depending on what activities are taking place. Mobile furniture, work benches, desks, meeting rooms and spaces that can be separated by curtains depending on who is inhabiting the area are all components of this workplace.
Raw, imperfect, creative, flexible, and stimulating are all translated into built form. The space is always alive, with creatives generating new ideas, problem solving and making.
