WANDA JINHAI LAKE HOTEL
SHANGHAI, CHINA
This project proposes a unique experience for the new found areas of Shanghai. The objective of our concept was to integrate the site with the building.
Inspiration
stemmed from the concept of Chinese Calligraphy, the stroke of a brush with its
ink dripping in the water. Our site is merely a piece of art and we plan to
leave our mark via our architecture which is painted on the site following the
lines and the movement of the surrounding context.
Considering
the site as a piece of art, and that the building would be located in the center
of Jinhai lake, the iconic architecture will be an extension of the existing Fish
shaped lake Tail. Surrounded by water the architecture will bring a unique
experience to the guest and a new landmark point to be recognised by locals and
visitors.
The architecture is an extension of the landscape - green roofs are connected on the different levels as an expansion of the plaza. The architecture and landscape are connected by the same language offering a unique picturesque experience.
