Conceived as a property redevelopment for an owner and a long term facility operation for a tenant, No. 1 Butt Street successfully integrated the diverse needs of investor and space user.
The raw industrial aesthetic of the once derelict buildings is still very evident in the designed outcome with the quirky character being representative of the Agency’s vibrant and youthful character.
Contemporary services infrastructure was deftly inserted into the buildings and appear as furniture elements that now define efficient studio spaces that are linked over three levels by a social hub that presents both formal and informal meeting spaces. Raw honest materials and an eclectic mix of furniture workstyles now define this highly dynamic facility.
