GOVERNMENT AGENCY (EFIC)
This Federal Government Agency were looking for an office rebranding and refurbishment that reflected the quality of their service without appearing extravagant. The briefing required a well-connected Greenstar fitout with focus on reuse, environmentally sustainable products and maximum utilisation of natural light. With a small floor plate surrounded by large buildings on three sides, visual connection within the floor and to the outside environment was a key focus in both the planning approach and choice of physical elements. The office layout was planned to free the windows to create an open plan work area and locate the reduced built zones internally. A new internal stair was designed on an existing tight structural set-out and was critical to improving travel between floors, staff interaction and communication. This was also achieved by transitioning from a heavy office based precedent to an open plan layout where the centralised meeting hubs are located near the stair landings. Graphics were implemented as environmental branding reflecting the client’s achievements through the use of integrated removable images in the communal lift lobby and reception spaces.
