GLENMORE PARK SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL
The provision of special education facilities for the delivery of school education services is a key process within NSW Department of Education & Communities (DEC).
The objective of the project was the provision of a new School for Specific Purposes (SSP) for 13-16 class groups on a ‘greenfield’ site at Glenmore Park to provide programs for students who require intensive levels of support and a specialised educational setting where learning support plans and individualised learning programs are provided. The SSP environment caters for students with moderate to severe intellectual and physical disabilities and provides support classes and facilities to enable all educational options for these students.
The support classes provide educational, vocational and social learning opportunities for students in age appropriate activities.
The project provides a new purpose built SSP to meet enrolment demand in the Western Sydney Region within the Penrith local government area.
