EUNEVA AVENUE COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE CENTRE AND CARPARK
GLEN WAVERLEY, VIC
This unique project comprises a ground floor Community Health Centre with basement car park and an additional six levels of car parking above for 410 cars. The brief was twofold: a Community Healthcare Centre that is uplifting, comfortable, functional and flexible, plus a car park which ‘does not look like a car park’ with a high quality architectural facade which is aesthetically pleasing and sympathetic to the area. Clad in 100% sustainable sourced FSC timber, the facade incorporates cantilevered planters for climbing and hanging plants to create a living, green-wall façade, integrated with rainwater harvesting and water decontamination measures for plant irrigation. The Community Health Centre has been carefully planned and considered with flexibility and comfort in mind. The office spaces use sliding glass doors to provide the opportunity for open plan work. while translucent film and blinds provide privacy when required. Timber screening provides extensive shading to the north and west facing elevations, while an unenclosed light veil through the centre of the building allows natural light and air to penetrate deep into the ground floor spaces.
