COLLAROY ACCESSIBILITY TOURISM PRECINCT
Collaroy offers a unique inter-relationship between natural features and the built infrastructure. An opportunity for day trips and holidays for people with a disability, not offered by many seaside locations, has been created at Collaroy Beach.
The objective of this project was to make Collaroy Beach a disability tourism precinct that will provide exceptional accessibility for anyone with a disability, their carers, families and friends, as well as all other members of the community.
This well known Sydney beachside location will now be ideal for people with a disability to enjoy a day trip or extended holiday where they can engage in a range of activities.
The project included an overall revitalisation of the area, combining the upgrade of Pittwater Road with redevelopment of Collaroy Reserve, circulation, car parking and design of an all abilities playground as well as disabled access to amenities.
