ALTITUDE O'RIORDAN STREET
The project is located on a prime corner site within the airport-city corridor. The building achieves a 4 star rating for energy efficiency. Other green initiatives in the design include naturally ventilated car park, landscape zones that are 200% of the base requirement, stormwater reuse for irrigation and the use of high performance glazing. The building contains a seven storey aboveground car park with natural ventilation. Botany Bay Council was keen that the car park component did not pronounce itself as a car park and one of the challenges of the project was to resolve the car park facade in terms of performance, aesthetics and cost. In order to achieve this, the design team proposed and considered various facade materials and detailing options.
