On 5th November Andrew Coomer, Mark Bennett and Sarah Purcell had the pleasure of being guests of Leighton Constructions at the Sir David Martin Foundation Navy Centenary Ball held in the Great Hall of Parliament House, Canberra. The ball was in celebration of the Royal Australian Navy’s 100th Anniversary while raising funds for charity.
The gala event kicked off with a display from the Royal Australia Navy Drum Corp, with the entertainment continuing throughout the night with comedian MC Merrick Watts and the RAN Navy Band. The evening raised funds through a silent auction for the Sir David Martin Foundation. The charity was founded 21 years ago by the Governor of NSW, Rear Admiral Sir David Martin, who was one of the Navy’s most respected leaders with a vision of ‘safety, hope and opportunity’ for Australia’s young people. His hopes are being realised through the charity’s residential rehabilitation program at Triple Care Farm in Robertson where youth in crisis can come to recover and rebuild their lives.
