Peter Williams, Principal
Peter has 25 years of practice since registration. Under his guidance WilliamsBoag has been acknowledged by numerous design awards at a national and state level. Peter’s interest in stimulating the design debate within the profession led to a founding involvement with the Architecture International Series and the RAIA Monograph publications in 1985, and his continuing involvement with design policy formulation at a National level.
The firm of Williams Boag Pty Ltd Architects was established in Melbourne in 1975 and has achieved an enviable professional reputation by producing innovative, successful work within predetermined constraints and budgets.
Williams Boag has undertaken an extensive range of projects for both individual and group clients with both existing historic and contemporary buildings. The projects executed have ranged from large scale commercial and institutional through to the educational and residential fields.
Williams Boag Architects comprise a diverse range of individuals contributing to the design culture of the office under the leadership of Director Peter Williams.
Williams Boag Architects has won twelve design awards from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, including the prestigious Victorian Architecture Medal and the national Walter Burley Griffin Award for Urban Design in 1994. In 1999 the office received the Joseph Reed award for urban design and last year was awarded a Special Commendation award for alterations and additions to McClelland Gallery, Langwarrin. Both awards were also from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
Currently the office comprises a staff of 22, working on a broad range of projects.
